Not only does this entitle you to speak directly with the tech team, but also entitles you to product updates, ensuring you are taking advantage of all the latest features and benefits ThinKiosk offers.

ThinScale Management Platform Support

ThinScale Management Platform Support

Enterprise solutions require enterprise levels of management. ThinKiosk Enterprise and Enterprise Plus editions have the management platform integrated. This means that IT can convert and manage thousands of thin client devices from a single console. The management platform also manages the entire ThinScale suite of products and so truly delivers a single pane of glass to manage your entire environment.

Full Device Lock Down

Full Device Lock Down

ThinKiosk locks down the underlying operating system of the local device, disabling it fully, and therefore ensuring security. In it’s place, ThinKiosk delivers a secure workspace user interface, with a familiar Windows look and feel, that is controlled and manage via a central policy deployed by IT.

ThinScale Connector

ThinScale Connector

The ThinScale connector provides resource enumeration from Citrix StoreFront, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and VMware Horizon brokers. The new connector replaces the “receiver tab” delivering a unified workspace for all remote and local application resources. End users will see this as a single pane on the ThinKiosk ‘Applications Tab’

Magic Filter

Magic Filter

ThinKiosk Magic Filter is a dynamic key press pass-through feature that traps the local Ctrl + Alt + Del and Windows + L keystrokes and as the end user does not have access to the underlying device OS, passes them directly to the remote desktop or application environment, just as if the end user was working on their local desktop environment. This unique feature delivers an enhanced user experience as the end user now has a native Windows feel when it comes to using their ThinKiosk thin client.

Location Awareness

Location Awareness

ThinKiosk is fully location aware, meaning that it’s contextually aware when it comes to the different and varied locations from which an end user could be connecting from. This feature enables truly mobile working. The complexity of switching between different internal and external networks, and which URL an end user needs to enter to connect to the their remote environment now becomes transparent, simplifying and enhancing the overall end user experience.

Wi-Fi Connection Management

Wi-Fi Connection Management

ThinKiosk allows end users to configure Wi-Fi connectivity using its own built in interface for managing Wi-Fi connections. This simplified interface provides access to available Wi-Fi networks and the ability to manage them.

Tabbed Browsing

Tabbed Browsing

Included as part of the ThinKiosk Client software, is an integrated web browser, complete with a fully customisable user interface, that allows users to securely browse Internet sites based on policy set by the IT department. It also features the ability to open multiple tabs for a familiar browsing experience.

Secure Remote Worker

Secure Remote Worker

Secure Remote Worker allows end users to work remotely, from home, or using their own Windows device. When enabled, it places the thin client device into “worker” mode enabling Secure Remote Worker to apply lock down polices, remove Windows Explorer and launching the ThinKiosk Secure Workspace UI. When Secure Remote Worker is “switched off”, all of the device restrictions are lifted and the end user has full control of their local PC again. Ideal for allowing access to corporate applications, services, and data securely from outside the office environment.

Windows Security Center Detection

Windows Security Center Detection

ThinKiosk can proactively check the security components of the thin client device operating system. Components such as Firewall Protection, Anti Virus, and Anti Spyware protection, as well as Windows Updates can all be monitored, with ThinKiosk reporting the health of these components. Should one of these components not be compliant or configured correctly, then ThinKiosk Enterprise Plus Editions can take the appropriate action for remediation.

Windows Patch Management

Windows Patch Management

IT departments can easily control the Windows Update feature to ensure that end users are not disrupted by the update process, and that only the updates that have been tried and tested are applied to the thin client devices. For IT they can configure how often the thin client devices check for any updates, and then decide when and if to apply them. End users can also be prompted to install any of the available updates, or the updates can simply be pre-configured by the IT department to install silently, without user intervention or disruption. This ensures that the thin client devices are always up to date, secure, and compliant.

Windows Firewall Control

Windows Firewall Control

With ThinKiosk Enterprise Plus Edition, IT now have the ability to fully configure the Windows Firewall feature automatically. They can remove any existing firewall rules, or configure new firewall rules, and manage this centrally all from the ThinKiosk Management Platform and the Profile Editor.

USB Device Blocking

USB Device Blocking

An enhanced security feature built-in to ThinKiosk, is its ability to block USB devices that end users plug in to their ThinKiosk thin client. USB devices are often seen as one of the main causes security breaches and data leakage within an organization. ThinKiosk is able to prevent these devices from being used, with its USB blocking feature. Enabling this feature means that end users are prevented from being able to access USB-based storage devices when accessing corporate systems and data from their ThinKiosk thin client. This prevents them from being able to download sensitive company data and also from uploading potentially harmful files as well.

Application Execution Prevention (AEP)

Application Execution Prevention (AEP)

The ThinKiosk AEP feature adds an additional layer of security to ThinKiosk by preventing the execution of unauthorized applications. Employing a rules-based system, IT administrators can now configure exactly which applications end users are allowed launch on their endpoint device. These rules allow IT admins to create white/black lists which contain a comprehensive list of rule types delivering a granular level of control over exactly which applications can and can’t run.
